  Introduction to the Physiology Laboratory
  Equipment and layout
The physiology laboratory provides 10 work benches for students and research assistants. The laboratory is stocked with general laboratory chemicals and supplies, such as glassware, pipettes, petri dishes, tubes, etc. Laboratory equipment and instruments include 6 balances, 10 hot plate stirrers, 3 autoclaves, 2 centrifuges, 3 pH meters, 10 hemocytometers, 16 light microscopes, 10 Luxury-type mercurial blood pressure monitors, 4 dry bath incubators, 2 water bath incubators, 3 laminar flow benches, 2 thermocyclers, 10 electrocardiographs, 10 spirometers, 10 universal kymograph with stimulators, a chemical hood, a CO2 incubator and an oven.

In addition to the laboratory, there is a smaller cell culture laboratory with specialized instruments, including 6 electrophoresis tanks, a fast protein liquid chromatography (FPLC) system with various columns, an automatic photomicrography system, an ELISA reader, a high speed cold centrifuge, a liquid nitrogen container, an ultrasonicator and an ultra low degree -86℃ refrigerator.

Curriculum Description (Course taught)

Human Physiology Laboratory: Study the fundamental concepts of human physiology—including neural, muscular, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and sensory systems—using hands-on experiments. Measure and analyze students EKG, blood pressure, respiratory volume, vital capacity, FEV1 and reflexes. This course is organized to progress from the cellular level, to integrated system functioning to the total body. Discussion of the functions of various organic systems, including, digestion, respiration, excretion, circulation, endocrine, reproduction, autonomic and central nervous systems.
