  Introduction to Demonstration of Long-Term Care and Gerontological Nursing
  Equipment and layout
    The demonstration ward prepares students for clinical practice. The demonstration ward is well equipped and furnished as a hospital ward for nursing practice. This is a place to enhance quality of teaching in nursing technique and a preparatory training venue for students before their clinical care of patients. Each has ward beds and equipment which tutors and instructors can discuss and demonstrate aspects of nursing care.
Region A – The demonstration ward features a range of mannequins and 10 ward beds. Each bed comprises a patient model, a pillow, a blanket, an overbed table, a seating beside the bed, and a bed curtain. These ward beds are used by instructors and students to practice.
Region B – Nursing Station: The nursing station is equipped with a whiteboard device, chart file, chart shelves, and the hand washing equipment, enabling students to learn the functions of a nursing station.
Region C
– Exhibition area: Various anatomy models and specimens are exhibited for courses associated with anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, and clinical nursing. This exhibition area is invaluable for all students, and is used as an extension to lecture, laboratory and tutorial sessions.
Region D
– A large preparation room: Spacious storage displays tools, medications, and equipment required for nursing practice and examinations. Items can be categorized for enhanced task efficiency. Doors with attached nameplates have a simple design that is convenient to use.
Region E – Stock Supply: This is an area for storage of equipment and items that are fundamental to nursing techniques.
  Curriculum Description (Course taught)
 
  1. Physical Examination and Assessment Laboratory: Helping students utilize nursing skills in assessing patients’ physiological, psychological, sociocultural, developmental and spiritual health problems. Through practice correct and the skilled utilization health examination and the appraisal skill of this curriculum, to understand the health examination and the appraisal in the nursing specialized importance.
  2. Clinical Practice in Fundamental of Nursing (I) ,Medical and Surgical Nursing (I) (II), Pediatric Nursing, Gynecological and Obstetrical Nursing,Community Health Nursing,Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing: Helping students integrate nursing philosophy, nursing process and nursing skills in clinical practice, and experience the various dimensions of nursing functions. Students are expected to develop good nursing skills and strategies and apply nursing care plan to taking care of different patients in clinical setting.
